My mission takes me to Borneo in April for 1 month to join an environmental conservation charity called Greenforce. I am working with Greenforce to explore a new dive site off the North coast of Borneo. I will by diving daily to creat biological and ecological surveys of the variety of wildlife present in this unexplored environment. My studies will include identification, measurement and monitoring of coral, fish and marine mammals. All the data will go to Brunei Fisheries Department so they are more knowledgable about the reef in particular and aid in management of resources. I will also be working closely with the communinty in Sabah to teach the locals how they can protect the reef against damage from humans but remain effective at hunting on the environment.
